An Adriatic city that has linked Italy to the eastern Mediterranean for over two thousand years.
An ancient calling
For centuries Brindisi was where Rome looked east: the Via Appia ended here and ships sailed on to Greece and Asia Minor. That is why the city is still called the Gateway to the East.
A city to explore on foot
The old town, waterfront, inner harbour, cathedral and main monuments sit within a few streets. You stroll between palazzi, Romanesque churches and sea views without needing a car.
The ideal starting point
Between Valle d’Itria and Salento, Brindisi puts Ostuni, Lecce, Alberobello and the Adriatic beaches within a day trip, returning each evening to an authentic, less crowded city.
