The New Verdi Theatre, suspended above the Roman city

31 August 20261 min

Beneath the stalls lie the remains of ancient Brundisium.

Architecture and archaeology

Opened in 2006, the New Verdi Theatre stands on pillars above an archaeological site: Roman-era structures remain visible beneath the building.

A rich season

Drama, music, dance and concerts fill the theatre year-round, making it one of the province’s main stages.

Our tip

Before the show, a walk through the centre and an aperitivo on the waterfront round off the evening.
